It’s a really pretty start to the day, the sun is out and it’s in the mid 60’s. We start the day with a walk along a biking path in the complex. Along the path are signs that describe the history of Schenectady. I don’t know if you can read them, but the American Locomotive Company was headquartered here. The “Big Boy” pictured above is still the largest locomotive built in the world. And, ALCO helped with WWII efforts by converting their assembly lines to make tanks!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We took some time to test out the remote control submarine. It’s the big yellow thing on the dock and it has a tether that’s about 300 feet long. Boy can that thing really scoot. Doug expertly pilots it under the boat to inspect the props and rudders. Everything looks good, yay!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After lunch we take CJ for a swim. There’s a kayak place across the marina and it has a launch ramp. There’s a guy over there throwing a float for his dog; he throws it, the dog gets it and swims right over to the ramp to get out. Well, we just have to check that out! CJ’s a natural, he’s retrieving sticks and even the other dog’s (Ollie) toy. A good time is had by all. It’s really fun to watch CJ have fun.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The two pictures above show the marina from different angles. It really is a pretty property and CJ just loves running around the grass. There will be a fireworks show here tomorrow night. In the picture above, the fireworks will be launched from a barge by the bridge in the back ground.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We walk to an Italian restaurant for dinner and find that they are closed. We check 4 other places and they’re closed too. Maybe it’s a 4th of July thing, but we’re getting pretty hungry and we finally end up eating at Burger King, goodie. On the way back to the boat we see the sunset, very pretty tonight.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
