We attended service at Bottomline Church here at the marina. It’s New Jersey’s only church that meets at a marina. It’s been a few weeks since we’ve worshiped in a church, and it felt really good to be with fellow believers worshiping our Lord in song, praying together and having good fellowship time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is the inside of the church. It’s small, but it was packed with about 30 people. The service was good and the pastor reminded us of Jesus’s gift of salvation and God’s love. Because today is Pentecost, the church held communion. A great way to start the day!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We decided we would walk around Cape May today. We took CJ with us and boy did we walk. The pictures above reminded me of the power of nature and how even in the worst of situations, nature always finds a way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We had lunch at the Smash Shack downtown. It was an excellent burger, but still not as good as Andy’s. After lunch we walked around downtown and looked at the homes for rent close to the beach. All of them were very colorful and most had a theme, as you can tell from the “Holly House” on the right.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We finally found the famous Exit 0 in Cape May. We thought it would be fun to see it since we’ve been to mile marker 0 in Key West. I think that US highway mile markers typically represent the number of miles traveled, it’s rare to see a mile marker 0. The gas station that was there has been repurposed into a cafe serving burgers and fries. We also strolled through the strawberry festival which was really surprising. We only found one vendor that had strawberries. We’ve heard that the harvest this year was pitiful. If the lack of strawberries at the festival is any indication, we would wholeheartedly agree.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The last night of restaurant week, sniff, sniff. We had dinner with other looper friends at The Ebbitt Room. Like the other places, we picked an appetizer, entree and desert. I got the asparagus salad, steak and key lime pie. Doug had the deviled eggs, scallops and chocolate ice cream. Again, all very good.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As you can see from the picture, it was a really active day. Over 17,000 steps and 8 miles, we walked everywhere and CJ was with us all day. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We checked the weather and it looks like we’ll stay in Cape May a few more days. Not all that bad for us as they are still working on the Erie Canal; we should get an update tomorrow. Fingers crossed!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
