Exploring Cambridge, Maryland

On our walk today we learn that Harriet Tubman is a native of Dorchester County. Famous for the underground railroad, her birth name was Araminta Ross. This picture outside the county offices depicts the hardships of the enslaved of her era. We hope to go through the museum while we’re here.

A slow start to the day, we take CJ for a walk in the park right behind the marina and then back to the boat for coffee and a small breakfast. We take the scooters to Wal Mart and stop by a couple of really cute shops. We get some provisions and souvenirs before heading back for lunch. After lunch we do some work around the boat and order some things from Amazon. We’ll be here for about a week, so there’s plenty of time for delivery. We see a large fire in the distance and learn that a single lady around 70 years old has lost her house, all of her belongings and sadly her two pups. Please pray for her as she struggles with losing everything.

We go for another walk and run in to some “Looper” friends. We chat with them for a bit before they need to head back to their boat. We decide to stop and get a pizza to go from Ava’s. It’s called “meat, meat, meat.” Guess what the main ingredients are, ha ha ha. On the way back to the boat we get alerts that there’s a tornado watch and we can see the rain coming. We pick up the pace and get back to the boat just in the nick of time (thank you Jesus!!). All in all, it’s been a really good day. The pizza was really good by the way, hit the spot.
