As we leave the marina to get gas across the harbor, our friend Tom is on the dock and yells, “Hey Laura!”. He gets a picture of us leaving. They are traveling tomorrow, maybe we’ll cross paths again soon.

Not sure what’s up with the rocks, but we ran across a couple of these barges on the way to Havre de Grace. The name Havre de Grace is french for “Harbor of Grace.” I suspect there’s quite a bit of history there also. We make the journey just fine, we’ll stay here tomorrow and leave for Delaware City on Wednesday.

After getting settled and scoping out the marina, we catch up with other “loopers” and arrange for dinner at MacGregor’s restaurant. The place has had a recent overhaul and will be featured in an episode of a Gordon Ramsay show on June 11th. The crab cakes are fantastic!

And what dinner would be incomplete without homemade ice cream. Yes, it was delicious. I’m going to weigh 400 pounds by the time were home, ha ha.

I posted a while back that Doug had made a better fender contraption from pvc pipe and line. I neglected to post a picture of the finish product. Well here it is and it’s brilliant! It works great for keeping the boat off the dock on a long pier or at a fixed dock. We like our floating docks, but this marina has fuel and we’ll need to fill up before we leave.

Above is a picture of our travels for the month of May. The funny thing about this is I mentioned to Doug when we were planning the trip that it seemed inefficient to zig-zag up the Chesapeake and we shouldn’t do it. That’s not too much of a zig-zag is it?? The list of destinations for May: Portsmouth, Va; Deltaville, Va; Onancock, Va; Solomon’s Island, Md; Cambridge, Md; Annapolis, Md and Baltimore, Md.
