Sightseeing in Tangier

We took a trip by ferry to Tangier Island today. The island is sinking and is expected to only be there for about another 50 years. It’s a small community with around 400 people. I was struck by how close and family-like the people were. Everyone was friendly and I don’t think there is any crime or disorderly conduct on the island. I believe it is a mostly Christian area. We toured the island, had lunch and rode back on the ferry. Another good day.

Riding the ferry back to Onancock.

What an interesting visit to Tangier Island, you guys! Nice pic of the cross and your smiling faces!
Did the folks have the unique dialect you were expecting? Along with the people, what other cool thing did you see?
