To start the day, I wake up to this. Sometimes it’s tough to get a good nights sleep and I just couldn’t put my finger on it. This morning I figured it out, ha ha ha. Our bed is pretty good size, but it’s certainly not big enough for me, Doug and a bed hog!

After breakfast we catch up with some of our looper friends who want to get boat pictures in front of the Statue of Liberty. Including us, there are four boats; The Lucky Dog, Grateful, SamAnnetics and Mai Oh My. We all agree to meet at the Statue of Liberty at 11:30. We leave the marina and get to the Statue at the appointed time. Yes, we all synchronized our watches, ha ha. What a goat rope trying to get each boat in a good position for pictures; dodging ferries, tour boats, barges and jet skis, but we get it done! Yes, the boat you see in the pictures is The Lucky Dog. What a great group of folks. We all took pictures and shared them with each other. It was quite an experience for all of us to share.

On our way back from the Statue we had to stop at the entrance to the marina to get a shot of the famous “Colgate Clock.” It is a local landmark and was originally at the top of the Colgate-Palmolive factory (1924). It was moved to it’s current location in 1985. It has a diameter of 50 feet and is among the largest freestanding clocks in the world.

We get back to the marina safely. About 20 minutes after getting there the worst storm crops up, lots of lighting, wind and rain. God is so good to us, had we been out there any longer we would have been caught up in the middle of all of that. Check out the “down spout” on the boat next to us, it’s like a hose!

With all the storms around, we decide to eat in tonight. It’s surf and turf night and it was really good. Felt good to stay “at home” and eat.
