Doug finishes up some more check list items and I get our cruising log up to date. We take CJ out for some play time, then we hit the scooters. We are headed to Lowe’s to get some spare parts. We zip past Mike’s Hot Dogs, hold on, stop, reverse, we MUST try it. Funny thing is, neither one of us is interested in having a hot dog for lunch. I get a cheeseburger, Doug gets a gyro; we split fries. It’s all really good, we eat then continue to Lowe’s.

As we leave Mike’s Hot Dogs we see a working phone booth!! Really, a working phone booth, how fun.

On the way to Lowe’s, the route takes us by a beautiful church and through Central Park. Central Park is absolutely stunning. It has walking/biking trails, a pond, tennis courts, frisbee golf and this really pretty rose garden.

Some really good friends of ours grew up in Schenectady. Doug was talking to them today and they shared the addresses of the houses where they lived. They (Wes and Linda) grew up, met, went to school and got married in Schenectady! They live in Raleigh now, but it was fun to talk with them about the places they used to go, the area and potential places to see. We are going to try and get to the Stockade District before we leave. It’s the oldest neighborhood in Schenectady that’s been continuously inhabited, over 300 years! There’s a free walking tour that will take you through the area pointing out many of the landmarks.

We get back to the boat and get CJ out for a romp in the grass. He is really enjoying his nerf toy and rolling around. It’s good to be the CJ!
