It’s bitter sweet, but we had to say goodbye to Winter Harbor Marina this morning. What a great place, I could go on and on about how well they treated us while we were there. They also have top notch facilities to do just about anything to a boat and they have heated buildings to store boats over the winter. But the best part, they had fresh goodies and coffee in the morning. Anyhow, we hit the last lock on the Erie Canal (yay) and did all 6 locks on the Oswego Canal today. My side is a little fatigued but all in all it was a good day. We did see some really pretty homes on the canal, and lots of fishing boats.

We saw this on the trip today. Any guesses as to what it is? We figured it out right away and it’s another thing that we just MUST have. Ha, ha, forever 6 years old at The White House.

On seagull watch before entering a lock. Man, where there a lot of them. I’m glad we didn’t get pooped on.
Here’s a video of us leaving a lock. It’s an unusual setup because there’s a draw bridge at the end of it. Cars have to stop for us to go through, just like a train.

We arrive at the marina in Oswego and get settled. We then walk up the street for some dinner. Doug gets a Reuben sandwich and I get the turkey sandwich and soup special. The description for the special is spot on, my sandwich?? Just bread and turkey, no mayo, no lettuce, no tomato. Don’t think I didn’t ask for some, nope, they don’t come on the sandwich, ha ha ha.

The sun is going down as we get back to the boat. I guess there are fires someplace in Canada that has the air full of particles making for spectacular sunsets.
Time to get some shut eye, it’s been a long day and we are hoping to head out early tomorrow to get to Canada!
