We leave Cambridge around 8:30 headed to Annapolis. It’s a bit breezy and leaving the marina is one of the tougher parts of our journey. As we approach Annapolis we see the Thomas Point Shoal Lighthouse. It’s a National Historic Landmark, and like the construction of the Choptank Lighthouse, it’s what they call a screwpile lighthouse. It’s still a working lighthouse and is the last screwpile lighthouse on the Chesapeake in it’s original location. I didn’t know until I was reviewing the pictures, but there might Blue Angels in the distance!

We get to the marina around 1:30 and get settled in. It’s not long before we hear the roar of jet engines, the Blue Angels are flying! As you can see, CJ is more interested in making friends with the lady behind us than the jet that’s sneaking up behind him.
Even though the center of the show was one cove over, we had a great view! Go Navy!!

We end the day with dinner at the Boatyard Bar & Grill. I had a mahi blt, Doug a fancy reuben sandwich. It was all good and we topped off the dinner with, finally, a piece of Smith Island cake. Very yummy!! After dinner, we took the scooter to the Safeway grocery store for a few things. It was a great day!
