We got some much needed rest last night. After a few long days and the heat, it was nice to sleep in and be lazy. After we get up around noon; ha ha I kid. But we did sleep in and have a lazy start to the day. However, this boat won’t wash itself. Doug gets out the brush, bucket and suds and scrubs the boat getting rid of lock scum, dock rash and river yuck. As you can see from the picture, he’s got good supervision.

Later in the afternoon a nasty storm comes up. Doug gets all of the washing and waxing supplies inside just in the nick of time. After the storm passes we look outside and quite a bit of the construction material from the building across the dock has blown around. The white stuff on the water that looks like snow is the styrofoam siding they are taping to the outside of the building; insulation maybe??? Oh, we also have small foam pellets all over the boat upstairs. You know, like those small confetti things you put in people’s offices for their birthday? We’ll be finding them around the boat for months, ha ha.

We decide to call it a day and watch some TV upstairs and relax. For dinner we have kielbasa, carrots and some of Mom’s home made lumpia. Dessert? Oh yeah, it’s Nutter Butter cookie time. It’s very relaxing to stay on the boat and get stuff done. Breakfast, lunch (sandwiches) and dinner on the boat, just like home!
