We had company today!

,

Doug’s cousin Julie lives a couple of hours away and she decided to drive over this afternoon for a visit! It was a fun time for us to catch up with her and what she’s been doing and to share our journey with her. It was a spur of the moment thing and we’re glad she could come.

This is CJ’s new phantom friend. When he saw it the first time in the grass, he bolted over, stopped short, growled, ran over and did the doggie hello (fanny sniffing if you didn’t know). He then sheepishly turned to Doug and made a “this is a fake dog” face. It was pretty funny, well at least for us it was. They have several of these plastic animals close the the dock walkway. We’re not sure what pest or vermin they are trying to keep out with them.

The three of us hop into Julie’s car and we go to The Preserve at 405 for an early supper. They had lots of things to choose from, but we all get Italian style dishes; Doug- Chicken Pepperoni Parmesan, Julie – Preserve Chicken and I got the Chicken Milanese. Oh boy was it good. It’s been a few days since we’ve eaten out and it was nice, especially for me, to be off the boat and get a change of scenery.

We say goodbye to Julie and I get this picture as we walk back to the boat. We have someone in front and back of us now. The truth is, we aren’t even supposed to be here still, so any spot is just fine with us. I’m getting better each day but I tire easily and my left side is still pretty weak. We’ll probably be here until mid-week when we’ll check my status and the weather to see if it’s good to get back on the move.

Hooray, so glad you were able to get off the boat and enjoy your visit with Julie. Poor CJ, just when he thought he could make a new friend! Oh well, next stop CJ 😊
The food looked fantastic and I am also glad someone else takes pictures of food besides me.

I know things are getting better due to the medical fact, that we are getting pictures of Dining dishes again. Ha Ha 😊 Glad you had company today keep CJ & Doug strait in your spare time.

So happy to hear you’re improving, but glad you’ve decided to wait a while longer before attempting to move forward in your journey. The dishes y’all had for dinner looked delicious and I’m sure it was a real treat for you to be able to get out, even though it was tiresome in the long run. Prayers continue for your complete healing! Hello to Doug and CJ!
